The Autos 4 Animals Car Show was held on Saturday, March 30th in Granda Prairie, Texas. This was Mike McCown’s first attempt at putting on a car show, and HE NAILED IT! While the weather was the only negative with 30 mph and light rains, everything else about the show was nothing less than perfection.
The car show had trophies for the Top 30 cars (all makes & models).
A total of 69 vehicles showed participates which was a strong showing despite the adverse weather conditions.
From BBV, Doug Kerns and Mark Benton were in the Top 30. Mike’s C7s also placed in the Top 30.
Doug Kerns also won the 50/50 raffle which totaled $700. He promptly donated his $350 winnings back to the animal shelter which was awesome and exemplified the spirit of the show.
BBV Customs sponsored the Best of Show Award. It was presented to Neil Hodgson with his Red 1959 C1.
The only thing that comes close to Mike McCown’s love of Corvettes (and the Buckeyes) are animals. He has huge heart for our 4-legged friends which is what this show is all about. A grand total of $2,475 was raised for the local animal shelter and had 14 dogs adopted which was the most adoptions in a single day for this shelter.
Lastly, the BBV Customs team was impressed by McCown’s HOA for letting him use the club house and park. A big thanks to Mike McCown for hosting, and the BBV Customs family cannot wait until next year!
